More information:
Good Idea is a result of research at the Antidiabetic Food Center at Lund University. Dr. Elin Östman and her colleagues already discovered 15 years ago that a certain combination of amino acids could balance blood sugar by dampening the rise in blood sugar after a meal. They eventually began a collaboration with Oatly’s founder Rickard Öste in Aventure AB, a Swedish company specializing in food with health-promoting properties. The goal was to make something good and useful out of the researchers’ knowledge. The collaboration led, among other things, to the discovery that if you combined the amino acids with a small amount of the mineral chromium, Good Idea worked even better. The chromium means that less of the hormone insulin is needed to take care of the carbohydrates in the food.
