More information:

These golden berries have many names in English but you may recognize them as physalis or gooseberry. The tart and delicious berry that you find in the tropical part of the fruit counter is also called Inca Berries or Golden Berries and its Latin name is Physalis peruviana L .

The berries grow on a plant that grows to about 1 m tall and produces the yellow-orange fruit that is covered in small thin leaves. If you like small, tasty berries, the inca berry is a tongue-tickling alternative. The tart berries are about the size of cherry tomatoes.

Eat these berries as they are, blend into your smoothie or sprinkle over your salad. Tip! Add luxury by dipping in melted, dark chocolate – wonderfully delicious.
