The 1.6 & 2.6 million club for Women & Health is an organization that works for health and quality of life for all women.
We are a non-profit association that was founded to highlight women’s health issues. Since 1998, we have worked to improve gender equality in healthcare and in society. Through public education and opinion formation, we draw attention to and inform about the importance of increased medical knowledge in order to provide fair care. Via the fundraising foundation Kvinnor & Hälsa 90 account collects money for scholarships for research with a gender perspective. So far, we have distributed close to seven million kroner.
Collection Foundation Women & Health
Most people wish to be healthy in body and mind and stay healthy into old age. Although this is just as important for women as for men, research has traditionally been conducted mostly on men.
We therefore need more research with a gender perspective, it can sometimes be a matter of life and death.
That is why the Women & Health foundation has been formed. We raise money for research that is significant and vital for women. The scholarships will go to clinical researchers who are at the beginning of their research career, and who conduct research with a gender medicine perspective.
